| There were 27 cases.The longest duration of the disease was 20 years,the shortest 8.months（average 6 years,6 months）.They were of the following clinical types:Type Ⅰ sinus bradycardia（14 cases）,Type Ⅱ sinus arrest or sinus block（9 cases）,Type Ⅲ tachycardia-bradycardia syndrome（4 cases）.Before treatment,the slowest sinus rate was 27 beats/min.,the fastest rate was 68 beats/min.15 cases had history of syncopal attacks.The etiology was coronary heart disease（15 cases）,myocarditis（3 cases）and unknown （11 cases）.According to the diagnosis by TCM 12 cases had Yang Xu（阳虚）of the heart,9 cases had Qi Xu（气虚）and Yin Xu（阴 虚）,6 cases had Yang Xu of the heart and kidney. With treatment,most of the patients improved significantly.Syncope disappeared in 14 patients,decreased in frequency in one.After treatment the average heart rate increased from 50.04±1.17 beats/min.to 57.07±1.31 beats/min.,the mean increase being 7.03±1.83 beats/min.（P<0.001） Non-invasive left ventricular function indices,such as the pre-ejection period·（PEP）index,left ventricular ejection time（LVET）index,PEP/LVET ratio and ejection fraction（EF）and mean circumferential fiber shortening rate（MVCF）were measured in 15 cases,and no significant differences were found in any of the indices before and after treatment. The average value of plasma estradiol level（E2）of 10 male patients before treatment was 96.72±20.20 pg/ ml.The average value of plasma testosterone level（T）was 504.2±62.61 ng/dl,and E2/T ratio was 0.02296 ±0.0054.After treatment,the average of E2 was 53.44±5.74（P<0.05）,the average of T was 757.0±64.41 （P<0.01）,E2/T ratio was 0.00756±0.00101（P<0.01）. |
