High levels of AKP and 7GT were found in serum and T-tube bile from 26 patients undergoing cholecystectomy and exploration of the common bile duct for up to 2 or 3 weeks after operation.The activities of these enzymes were different,but higher in bile than in serum obtained daring the period of bile drainage. AD and LDH.whether in serum or in bile,were normal or nearly normal in level.The activities of these bile enzymes AKP.7GT,AD and LDH were reduced,particularly 3 or 4 hours after the mixture was taken by mouth.AKP fell from-_o±S_o=36.99±6.21 to ₃±S₃=28.22±4.7（P<0.05）;γGT,from_o±S_o= 574.38±63.74 to₄±S₄=453.88±70.36（P<0.05）;AD,from _o+S_o=16.32±4.06 to₃±S₃=10.41±2.88 （P<0.05）:LDH,from_o±S_o=309.6±74.55 to₃±S₃=221.55±45.82（P>0.05）.The reduced activities of bile enzymes AKP,γGT etc.might be due to the restoration of enzyme amount released.from both damaged liver cells and bile-duct epithelial cells.
