| This paper reports experience in treating pemphigus with combined TCM-WM on the basis of differential diagnosis.According to the guiding principles of differential diagnosis,the cases were divided into three types:(1) The type of"blazing of evil heat in both Qi(energy)and Xue(blood)systems"which should be treated with the method of dispelling pathogenic toxic heat from Ying(nutrient)system and blood.(2)The type of"dampness and evil heat prevailing in the body and asthenia of the spleen with stagnancy of dampness"which should be treated with the method of invigorating the functionof the spleen to dispel dampness and removing the toxic agents.(3)The type of "body fluid injured by intense heat with both Qi and Yin consumed"which should be treated with the method of replenishing vitalenergy and Yin essence and removing the lingering toxic heat. The therapeutic effect of 30 cases was as follows:9 cases with excellent effect,18 cases with effect and 3 patients died.The total effective rate was 90%,with a mortality of 10%.The results showed that the TCM-WM therapy had the advantage of high effective rate,low mortality,little side-effect and less complications as compared with TCM or WM treatment alone. |
