| This study reports the effects of 清胰汤Ⅰ号(Qing Yi decoction No.Ⅰ),a common TCM-WM therapeutic prescription for acute pancreatitis on the exoerine pancreas of rat.Under sterile conditions a catheter was inserted into the common bile duet at its entrance to duodenum to collect pancreatio secretion.Another one was inserted into the lumen of duodenum to make the pancreatic juice return and to offer a route for administration. In order to obtain pure pancreatic juice the common bile duct must be ligated at hilus of liver and the bile was delivered into duodenum by a third catheter inserted into the duct just proximal to the ligature.Experimental observation was done at the second postoperative day without any anesthetics.The animal was allowed access to food and water before observation.Pancreatic sample was collected into a container surrounded by ice tubes and then kept frozen in a refrigerator until analysis. The experimental results suggested that the intradandenal infusion of normal saline had no influence on any of the parameters of pancreatic secretion.However,significant inhibition of protein concentration occurred after the administration of the decoction.They were 28.60±6.22 and 23.60±5.79mg/ml at 30-60 min and 60-90 min after administration respectively.They showed a significant difference,compared with the control value (39.11±4.82).Concomitant inhibition was also acquired in total protein output.It arrived at a level of 6.37±1.47mg/30min 60-90 min after administration.Compared with control(10.33±1.79)the difference was marked.In contrast,the Qing Yi decoction did not have any effect on the pancreatic flow,but it significantly increased the concentration and output of bicarbonate at 30-60 min after administration. The fact that Qing Yi decoction No.Ⅰ significantly inhibits the protein concentration and has no action on the flow rate seems to have a beneficial influence on the treatment of acute pancreatitis.It may prevent the further destruction of pancreatic tissue by the inhibition of pancreatio enzyme secretion.On the other hand,it does not decrease flow rate by which further increasing of high pressure in the pancreatic duct can be prevented and the infiltration of pancreatic enzyme into the interstitial space discontinued.In conclusion,it may be hypothesized that although the TCM-WM treatment of acute panoreatltis is different from the time-honored conservative therapy,the therapeutic principles of both are identical and the same result can be obtained by using either of them. |
