| This paper reports the result of experimental observations on treating aoute radiation sickness in irradiated mice and dogs by TCM’s principle of replenishing vital energy and dispersing blood stasis.It was shown that the survival rate of dogs exposed to 265-350 rads and treated by the above-mentioned therapy could be raised by 40.5%(P<0.01),and that the survival rate of mice exposed to 750-800 roentgen and injected with Qi Jia Dan(芪甲丹)could also be increased by 21.3%(P<0.01).The protective coefficient of the experimental mice was 1.47.The experimental dogs were relieved from symptom and hemorrhage.The level of peripheral blood cells could be somewhat improved.It is believed that blood stasis is a kind of early syndrome of acute radiation sickness,and that the principle of replenishing vital energy and dispersing blood stasis can have some curative effects on moderate radiation diseases.It could be recommended as one aspect of combined therapy. |
