| In order to probe the anti-infection effect of Chinese traditional ointment for external application,the authors studied macrophage immunization activated by ointments of Jin Huang(金黄)、Huang Lian(黄连) and Yu Hong(玉红)after the study of Sheng Ji(生肌)ointment.The experimental results indicated that these ointments had marked activation and phagocytosis as well as the ability to digest foreign body of peritoneal macrophages.It is higher than the control(P<0.001).Thus these ointments had similar good anti-infection effect though their properties and cases for their clinical application are different.The results of the study suggest that anti-infection effect of the Chinese traditional ointment for external application is different from antibiotics and western medicine for external application,since their chief action is not direct bacteriostasis but modulation and enhancement of the body’s immunization. |
