实验发现,助阳药附子单味或附子加肉桂(附桂)二味均明显地增高二肾一夹型高血压大鼠的血压,但附桂却降低肾上腺皮质再生型高血压大鼠的血压,即助阳药对前一模型有加剧恶化作用,而对后一模型具有治疗作用。从药物验证的观点推测,二肾一夹型高血压可能属于中医"阴虚"模型,而肾上腺皮质再生型高血压可能属于"阳虚"模型。

The use of drugs of Yang and Yin nature to determine whether an experimental hypertensive rat belongs to Yang or Yin deficiency is an accepled method in Yin-Yang research.Theoretically,the Yang-invigorating drugs should be able to restore Yang deficiency and bring the blood pressure down.However they might deteriorate cases with Yin deficiency and elevate their blood pressure.Drugs of Yin nature should have the opposite action.This paper studied the influence of mankshood(root).bark of Chinese cassia tree and Liu Wei Di Huang Fang 六味地黄丸(rehmannia,fruit of medicinal cornel,Chinese yam rhizome,oriental water plantain,root-bark of peony and tuckahoe)on the arterial blood pressure in both Skelton and Goldblatt hypertensive rats.The mankshood and bark of Chinese cassia tree have the property of restoring Yang and Liu Wei Di Huang Fang has that of nourishing Yin.It is found that the mankshood alone or together with bark of Chinese cassia tree markedly increased(P<0.05 and P<0.01)the blood pressure of two-kidney Goldblatt hypertensive rats but decreased(P<0.01)the blood pressure of Skelton hypertensive rats.This experiment suggested that the two-kidney Goldblatt hypertensive rats might be a model of Yin-Xu(Yin deficiency)and Skelton hypertensive rats might be that of Yang-Xu(Yang deficiency).However,the assumption needs further confirmation.
